Job Description/Essential Functions:
Perform high-level trade studies and analyses of satellite communications systems architectures, including space and ground segments, in support of program and new business proposals.
Develop RF system performance requirements and flow down to detailed component specifications.
Define antenna coverage, preliminary antenna design characteristics, and specification of antennas.
Lead and oversee the mechanical and electrical design, integration, test, and in-orbit checkout of satellite communication subsystems.
Write detailed unit-level and spacecraft-level test plans, procedures, and automated test scripts to ensure functional testing verifies and validates all subsystem performance requirements.
Track and trend RF subsystem and component performance parameters through spacecraft assembly, integration, and environmental test.
Present effectively at customer design reviews. Interaction with the customer, and senior management team in the business group.
Perform vendor survey for RF components and support down-selection and contract negotiation. Provide technical subcontract monitoring.
Write specifications and engineering reports as a result of advanced studies, special engineering investigations, and similar activities.
Mentor, guide, and advise less-experienced staff
