Job Description/Essential Functions:
Our client's project is a multi-phase Program to demonstrate a new space transportation system for delivering cargo to the International Space Station (ISS) and will involve the development and flight demonstration of a commercial cargo delivery system to low Earth orbit with the potential to support ISS operations following the retirement of the Space Shuttle in 2010. This system will consist of a new advanced maneuvering spacecraft, along with several interchangeable modules for pressurized and unpressurized cargo, and will be launched on a medium-lift rocket.

The Sr. Integration & Test Manager position is a Lead role reporting to the Director of I&T, responsible for Leading COTS integration & test activities for their northern VA location. Ideal candidate shall possess a Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline, plus eight (8) to ten (10) years of related experience in the aerospace industry. US Citizenship required. Candidate must possess demonstrated management and leadership skills, including excellent interpersonal skills with excellent verbal and written communication ability. Lead the execution of the entire I&T Program, guaranteeing quality, optimizing cost and schedule while meeting Program and Customer requirements:

- Identify, staff, and manage the resources needed to integrate and test the system. Generate planning to ensure that integration and test activities are carried out as scheduled. Establish schedules and work flows that can quickly adapt to changing priorities.
- Act as Cost Account Manager (CAM) for all I&T work package planning. EVMS reporting: Generate CPI & SPI variances with detailed basis for exceeded thresholds and out-of-scope expenditures, establish budget Estimates-To-Complete (ETCs) as required.
- Ensure that adequate integration test documentation (procedures and work instructions) is developed, generated and released, both from the development teams and the I&T Team.
- Coordinate with subsystem engineers in the development and execution of their respective subsystem integration plans, test plans, and procedures.
- Manage Facility and tooling/GSE development & implementation requirements to meet spacecraft I&T goals and objectives.
- Lead and/or support various Program reviews (IRR, TRR, PSR, etc)
- Act as the primary Program and Customer interface to I&T Functional Organization
- Maintain working/Team environment in compliance to FOD/ESD/5S/Tool Control policies and procedures.
- Lead launch site integration and test operations.
- Coordinate/ support resolution of anomalies and discrepancies (TF's & NCR's).
- Support on time and on-budget product delivery by:
- Reducing/Eliminating Yellow Tags to be an exception, not the norm
- Reducing/Eliminating 'Out of Position' activities (ie; Perform the work to optimum flow and configuration)
- Maintaining NCR Tracking / closure

Required Qualifications:
Required Education/Experience:
A Bachelors Degree (BA/BS) in Engineering or equivalent experience is required.
Ten years of related experience is required.

Required Qualifications:
Skill 1: Must have excellent knowledge of space systems with one or more of the following:
- 10 years Systems Engineering experience
- 10 years experience manufacturing, integration & test process and documentation.
- Launch vehicle integration and test experience

Skill 2: Ability to establish schedules and work flows with the capability to quickly adapt to changing priorities.

Skill 3: Experience working with and managing product development integration teams. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, lead and manage a diverse group of people, handle conflict, and be creative in providing solutions in challenging situations.

Preferred Qualifications:
MS in an Engineering discipline.

Other preferred personal skills include good listening skills and strong follow-through ability.

Practical experience with Six Sigma and/or Lean manufacturing techniques. Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, Continuous Improvement and other Lean methodologies
